Couldn't have chosen a better place than Minneapolis' Great Wall to have our daughter's surprise 18th birthday party!! They reserved the back room for us, set with a long table for 22, and had another small one set aside for the cake and another for gifts. They let us hang a banner and bring flowers and colorful lanterns and the staff was attentive and helpful. We met with the wonderful Raymond ahead of time to plan the menu of our daughter's favorites, and the appetizers and entrees were brought out timely and thoughtfully served, as planned. They make delicious cream cheese wontons in house, use fresh crisp vegetables, the thin lo mein noodles are cooked just right and the tangerine chicken is a family favorite -- my parents and aunt liked everything so much, they have already been back for more, commenting how fresh and non-greasy everything is… For dessert they came by and sprinkled the tables with fortune cookes and let us serve our own cake, having provided us with freezer space and an ice cream scoop. It was a perfect night. NOTE: They're also caring and attentive to food allergies! : ) Overall, the Great Wall is our favorite neighborhood Chinese restaurant, great for dining in, taking out, or having a private party!!

I’ve been to a lot of Chinese spots around the Twin Cities, but Great Wall of China in Edina seriously impressed me. From the moment you walk in, it’s got that classic, comfortable neighborhood feel — not over-the-top fancy, just warm and welcoming. Service was quick, friendly, and on point. You can tell they’ve been doing this for a while. Now the food… Everything came out hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. The portions were solid, and nothing tasted rushed or generic. The sauces were balanced perfectly — not overly sweet, not bland — just right. But let me talk about that spicy mustard. If you know, you know. That nose-clearing, sinus-opening, wake-you-up kind of mustard. The kind that hits fast, makes your eyes water for a second, and then you immediately go back for more. Absolute perfection with egg rolls and fried rice. I could honestly buy a bottle of that stuff. Overall: Fresh, flavorful dishes Great portion sizes Fast and friendly service Legendary spicy mustard If you’re in Edina and craving solid Chinese food that actually delivers on flavor, this place is a win. I’ll definitely be back.

I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the cream cheese wontons which were perfectly fried, the right size, and not greasy at all. They come with a sweet sauce and a mustard sauce. I also ordered the broccoli in garlic sauce with medium spice. It was just lightly spicy with great flavor. Definitely a step above your typical fast casual Chinese restaurant in terms of flavor and technique. It’s also been in the neighborhood for decades, so you know it’s solid.

Great food. The Beef Szechuan Style that I had was really good. Liked the spiciness it had in it. The place is decently convenient, as it is along the route 6 bus which is every 30 minutes, but it will be served soon by the E Line which will be more frequent, which will be good and will make it easier to get to this restaurant

We had take-out from here the other night and it was great! Sizable portions and very well cooked food. Nothing was greasy or soggy & vegetables looked and tasted like vegetables. Thank you so much and we look forward to coming back!

Gracy provided absolutely incredible service. I ordered a lot of food, and it came extremely quickly and professionally. The presentation was second to none, and this was my first time here! I will definitely be returning. It is no wonder this business has been here for so long. Great place and professional service.

My first time in that restaurant. It gives you a sense of a nice atmosphere and you get a great service. Not mentioned the delicious and great taste. The food tasted fresh made. I loved the Pho and the chefs unique chili sauce that he prepared himself.
